Questions abound now that pot is legal in Canada

Now that pot is legal in Canada, many questions are being asked.

Among those is how police will conduct their patrols and watch out for those who may be driving while high and another is how many plants you’re allowed to have at home if you decide to grow your own marijuana.

Stratford Police Sergeant Tony Burrows says you can have four plants in your home as long as they are grown by someone over 19 years old.

As for how police will patrol, he says they have technology that can detect if you’re high behind the wheel.

“We have sobriety test officers who will run you through a number of tests.”

Burrows adds if an officer believes they have reasonable grounds to believe that a driver is under the influence of cannabis then they will notify a drug recognition officer who will come to the scene and do further tests which are more in depth.
