Veteran Stratford Festival Actor To Receive Order Of Canada

A well-known figure at the Stratford Festival has earned cross-country recognition.

During a ceremony Tuesday at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Rod Beattie will become a Member of the Order of Canada.

Beattie is a well known figure on the Canadian theatre scene and is best known for his performances in the Wingfield series, one of the longest-running stage productions in the country.

Governor General Julie Payette will invest two Companions, 15 officers and 24 Members into the Order of Canada during the ceremony.
