Perth-Wellington MPP Pleased With Fall Economic Statement

The Conservative MPP for Perth-Wellington says he’s optimistic about the future of the province.

Randy Pettapiece makes the comment in a press release sent out today (Monday), after the province announced their Fall Economic Statement last week.

Pettapiece says the statement is “great news for Perth-Wellington” with initiatives including Ontario maintaining the Ontario Small Business Deduction, representing up to $40-thousand per year in savings for over 7,900 small businesses, and also making it so those who make $30-thousand or less paying zero percent income tax on their 2019 tax returns.

Pettapiece says the initiatives announced are “welcome news to the small businesses and constituents in his riding” and that dropping the income tax for many will go a long way.

“They’re not going to be paying provincial income taxes so that’s a significant number for those people, it’s about $800 a year, so I think that’s good news for people in Perth-Wellington.”

A MInister’s Agriculture Task Force was also announced as part of the update, which will be a group that will hear from leaders across the agriculture and agri-food sector, and advise Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affair, Ernie Hardeman.
