BREAKING: Elderly Pedestrian Killed In Collision Outside Stratford Identified

Ontario Provincial Police have identified the 77-year-old pedestrian killed in a collision outside Stratford Wednesday night as Andrey Ginovker from Stratford.

They say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.

An elderly pedestrian has died after a collision outside Stratford.

Stratford Police and other emergency services were called out to Highway 8, just east of the city, around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after it was reported that a 77-year-old man had been hit by an eastbound sedan as he was crossing the road.

Police say they treated the man at the scene and he was rushed to the Stratford General Hospital where he later died.

His name hasn’t been released while the driver of the sedan wasn’t hurt.

The highway was closed in the area for several hours but it is now back open.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by OPP Technical Collision Investigators.
