One Man Dead, Two Injured, After Collision Near Ingersoll

Speed and alcohol are being considered as contributing factors by police in a deadly collision in Zorra Township.

Around 11 o’clock Saturday night, emergency services were called out to the 19th Line about a single-vehicle collision.

Police say their investigation has determined that a grey coloured vehicle was traveling northbound on the 19th Line when it left the road and ended up in the west ditch.

They say the vehicle struck a hydro pole and then collided with a tree, ejecting a male passenger who was sitting in the back seat.

Firefighters extricated the driver and front seat passenger and all three men were rushed to the hospital where the 21-year-old driver from Ingersoll was pronounced dead.

Both passengers are still in the hospital with undetermined injuries and the identity of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

An investigation into what happened continues.
