Senate To Make Final Decision On Legislation To End Canada Post Strikes

The Senate could be set to vote on legislation to bring rotating strikes at Canada Post to an end.

The debate is set to resume Monday afternoon in the upper chamber on back-to-work legislation that, if passed, could see an end to the strikes by  Tuesday.

However, the union representing the Canada Post worker’s could still challenge the legislation in court.

Perth-Wellington Conservative MP John Nater says the strike has had a negative impact locally.

“I’ve heard from a number of local businesses and community members as well that they’re very concerned about the effect that this strike is having on their businesses and on their families as well.”

Meantime, contract talks continue and packages are making their way out to Canadians, albeit at much lower volumes than normal.
