Police: Impaired Driver Faces Charges After Driving Through R.I.D.E. Program And Causing Collision

A driver faces numerous impaired driving-related charges after police say he drove through an R.I.D.E. Program and caused a five-vehicle collision.

Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, Stratford Police say they were contacted by the OPP about a five-vehicle collision at Lorne Avenue and Downie Street.

They say the driver had driven through an R.I.D.E. Program, east of the city, and had continued into the city where he slammed into a row of vehicles, causing a chain reaction of collisions.

The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving, along with other offenses, and he was brought to

Stratford Police headquarters where police say his alcohol levels were found to be nearly three times the legal limit.

Several of the people in the vehicles in the collision suffered minor injuries, according to police.
