London Man Faces Fraud Related Charges From Incident In Stratford

A 40-year-old London man faces charges after police say he tried to commit fraud at a bank in Stratford.

Police say just after noon on Saturday they were contacted by the Royal Bank on Ontario Street about a man who was believed to have a fake I.D. and who was trying to get a loan for $5-thousand.

The bank refused the loan and contacted the police with the man leaving the bank before officers arrived.

Staff at the bank told the police what the vehicle the man left in looked like and it was soon located with the man arrested.

He faces charges including Fraud and Identity Theft and he is scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on January 2nd.
