A fire officer in Perth County is being honoured.
Captain Barb Myers received the Fire Chief’s Commendation from Fire Chief Bill Hunter at the Perth East Fire Department’s Appreciation Banquet Thursday night in Shakespeare.
The commendation is awarded to those who carry out extraordinary acts of service in their community Chief Hunter says Myers has continuously raised that bar.
Myers became the first female fire officer in Perth County earlier this year and she has had a 15-year career with the department.
