Police: Weapon and vehicle theft charges laid after incident near Seaforth

Three young males and an adult all face a long list of charges after an incident just east of Seaforth.

Around 10:20 Monday night, a Huron County OPP officer reports that they came across a sports utility vehicle that was parked on the side of Highway 8 with its hazard lights on.

Police say a check of the vehicles license plate revealed that the vehicle had been stolen in London recently.

They say the people inside the vehicle told the officer that they had run out of gas and that they were waiting for another friend to return with some, moments later the friend returned with a jerry can of gas after getting a ride from a Good Samaritan.

All four of the males, a 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds from London and a 31-year-old, were all arrested with police saying that the friend who went for the gas found to have a loaded firearm on him.

Charges laid include possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime over $5-thousand.

All four are due in court on Wednesday.
