Stratford area continues to hold lowest unemployment rate in Ontario

It’s good news and not so great news when it comes to unemployment numbers in our area.

The Four County Market Labour Planning Board released their employment numbers for November in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region and they found that the area continues to hold the lowest unemployment rate in the province at 3.6 %.

However, they say that number represents an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month.

Provincially, the unemployment rate decreased 0.6 percentage points to 5.2 %.

In our area, employment decreased by 4,200 with full-time losses offset by part-time gains.
