Woodstock Police are searching for a woman they say was involved in the theft of a gold necklace.
They say the theft happened around 1:45 Saturday afternoon in the area of the Woodstock Transit Terminal.
Police say an elderly female was approached by an unknown woman who asked her to purchase jewelry, which the elderly woman refused to do.
According to police, the suspect then placed a necklace around the victim’s neck and the suspect removed a necklace that the victim had already been wearing.
The stolen necklace is gold with a gold and diamond cross pendant and has a great deal of sentimental value to the victim.
The suspect is described as female, South-Asian, 5′-5’2″, 130 lbs, wearing a long dark coloured coat, silk scarf, white knitted touque and spoke broken English.
