London man arrested onboard Via Rail train in St.Marys

A 31-year-old London man had to find his own ride after police say he was arrested onboard a VIA Rail train.

Stratford Police say they were contacted by Via Rail around 9;30 p.m. Tuesday about a male on one of their trains approaching St.Marys.

Police say staff on the train said the man was suspected of stealing something from another passenger and he became verbally abusive when questioned about his actions.

Once the train arrived in St.Marys, the male was arrested by police and removed from the train.

Once their investigation was finished, police say the man was released from custody and was left to find a ride back to London as he was no longer welcome on Via Rail property.
