Eddie Matthews to be honored by Stratford Royal Canadian Legion

Eddie Matthews is being recognized for his work supporting the Royal Canadian Legion in Stratford.

Matthews, who is retiring from Vista Radio after 20 years behind the mic, is being honored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 with the Legion Media Award for his work over the years helping the legion.

The award is to be presented at a ceremony at the legion in the next few weeks.

Legion President Dale Bast says Matthews is a worthy recipient of the award.

“It’s something which is directed from dominion command through the provincial command office and we don’t award media awards very often”

Bast adds that the last time they presented the Legion Media Award was in the 1990s.
