Police warn drivers and parents to be alert this summer

Another school year is almost over.

This means you’ll see more children running and biking around the community as they enjoy their summer break.

Police are asking drivers to remain alert this time of year.

You’re urged to drive carefully but especially near parks, give bicyclists plenty of space, slow down and watch for children as you’re backing up.

For parents, police say you should talk to your kids about bike safety and developing a ‘buddy’ system.
