UPDATED: Another major drug bust made by police in Perth County

A Central Huron man faces a long list of drug and weapons-related charges following an investigation that began with a traffic stop in Perth South.

The OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit says they seized around $25 thousand worth of meth from a vehicle in Perth South during a traffic stop on Monday.

They say they also seized around $6 thousand worth of drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.

Following the traffic stop on Monday, the OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit and West Region Emergency Response Team say they used a warrant to go into a home on Whys Line in Central Huron on Tuesday where the suspect from the earlier vehicle stop had been staying.

Police say they seized meth, 186 cannabis plants and drug trafficking paraphernalia with a combined value of around $8,640.

They say they also seized a nunchaku weapon, three firearms, ammunition and also recovered two stolen snowmobiles.

Forty-nine-year-old Gary Elliott from Central Huron faces charges including possessing meth and possessing a prohibited weapon.

He has a court date scheduled for March 11th in Goderich.

The OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit says they found $25 thousand worth of meth during a traffic stop in Perth South on Monday.

They say they also seized drug trafficking paraphernalia worth around $6 thousand.

Forty-nine-year-old Gary Elliott has been charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and he was due in court in Stratford this week.
