Stratford Firefighters called to Festival Marketplace for false alarm

It’s back to business as usual at the Festival Marketplace Mall in Stratford following a false alarm.

Stratford Fire Chief John Paradis tells My Stratford Now.com that a frozen pipe attached to the mall’s sprinkler system ended up setting off an alarm at the mall on Wednesday.

He says people at the mall had started to evacuate by the time firefighters arrived on scene and both the alarm and the sprinkler companies were notified about what had happened.

The sprinkler company was brought in to repair the pipe that had become frozen because of the cold weather that has hit the area lately.

Everyone was allowed back into the stores at the mall a short time later.
