Three young children in stable condition after six-vehicle collision near Listowel

Three young children are recovering from serious injuries after a collision involving a packed school bus near Listowel.

Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedics, and North Perth firefighters say they were called around 2:45 Friday afternoon to a six-vehicle collision on Perth Line 72.

Police say their early investigation has determined that a sports utility vehicle was traveling eastbound in whiteout conditions when it collided head-on with a westbound pickup truck.

They say, following the first collision, four other vehicles became involved including the bus loaded with students from an area high school.

Three young children from the SUV, a one-year-old, a three-year-old and a four-year-old, were sent to the hospital by ambulance, according to police, and remain there in stable condition with their injuries not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the pickup truck was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and none of the students on the bus reported injuries.
