Stratford Police arrest three people from London after search

Police say three people each face a long list of charges after they were hunted down and arrested.

Just before 9:30 Thursday night, Perth County OPP say they got a complaint about a vehicle driving off without paying for gas in Shakespeare.

They say it was discovered the vehicle was stolen in London and Stratford Police were contacted after the vehicle was seen driving towards the city.

Stratford Police say the vehicle was found around 9:35 p.m. stuck in a ditch on Line 26 in Perth South and two males were seen trying to push the vehicle out of the ditch when police arrived.

The two men, a 36-year-old and a 37-year-old, were identified as being from London and a woman in the vehicle was identified as a 20-year-old from London.

Police say they attempted to arrest the men but they ran off prompting a police dog to be brought in and a perimeter set up to search for the two.

The 37-year-old was found hiding around 10:45 p.m. in the attic of a garage on Road 119 while the 36-year-old was found soon after in a barn on Line 26.

The three were held for a bail hearing and police say their investigation continues and more charges could be laid.
