Stratford Public Works says winter cleanup has been “challenging”

Stratford Public Works says taking care of the ice around the city has been challenging.

With the temperature rising Thursday, officials say they used a grader to remove ice from the secondary roads around the city.

They say that the combination of rain and snow, with fluctuating temperatures, created an uneven layer of ice that is difficult to remove.

Officials add that they do have grader that has been working constantly to break through the ice in various locations, but it has not been able to reach the pavement but warmer temperatures should make that work easier, both on city streets and sidewalks.

You’re being reminded to remember that some sidewalks and streets may require an extra treatment and could still be slippery.
