It could take you a lot longer to get to where you need to go thanks to the weather.
While the strongest winds were expected to sweep over the area Sunday afternoon lasting into the evening and overnight, the combination of the warmer weather we saw over the weekend and the strong winds and snow squalls means visibility could be poor in some areas Monday morning.
The winds could reach as high as 80 km an hour Monday morning according to Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Gerald Cheng.
He says the high winds we see could very well make their presence known.
“That’s enough to whip the snow around and cause a visibility issue so when we talk about 80 kilometres per hour often times we hear reports of power outages so it’s certainly something to not be taken lightly.”
Cheng adds that the storm came from Texas and moved northeast while sweeping across much of Ontario.
