St Agatha school to remain open

St Agatha School will live to teach another day.

The elementary school in Wilmot Township has faced closure twice in the last six years, including at last night’s board meeting, but was able to dodge it.

Board staff recommended closing it since it only has 100 students which is 59 per cent of its capacity and there’s a two-million-dollar backlog for repairs and renovations.

Regardless, trustees voted to keep it open.
