Half load season is in effect in Perth County.
Police say half load restrictions are put in place to protect roads from sustaining permanent damage due to heavy loads as the roads are more susceptible to heavy load damage during the spring thaw.
Passenger vehicles are exempt from the restriction and Perth County OPP commercial motor vehicle enforcement trained officers will be monitoring commercial motor vehicle traffic over the next few months concluding on April 30th.
Commercial vehicles are restricted to 5 tonnes per axle during the half load season.
