United Way needs more donations

The United Way Perth-Huron is in need of more donations.  The UWPH still needs $90,000 in donations with just three weeks to go in their fundraising effort called “ RaiseThe Red Together”.

“We are at the start of another three-year funding period and we want to support as many organizations as possible,” said UWPH Executive Director Ryan Erb. “We are reaching out to ask the public to donate in any way they can to help us help more local people.”

So far $1,377,813 has been raised.

“Supported programs and partners include a new initiative through Family Services Perth-Huron to help address youth with mental health challenges; the Huron Food Bank Distribution Centre, which supplies food to local community food banks; the Local Community Food Centre, whose Food Skills Programs provide access to fresh, local food while also cultivating the skills people need to cook healthy food on a budget at home; and organizations like Stratford-Perth Shelterlink and Huron Safe Homes for Youth which between them sheltered 205 at-risk youth in Perth and Huron last year.”

All of the donations stay here at home and UWPH supports 30,000 individuals and families across Perth and Huron Counties.

To hear more about the impact donations have locally, the public is invited to attend the Spirit of Community Celebration on March 28th. Tickets are $49.00 and the evening includes a three course dinner and stories of impact.
