Stratford News Attempted fraudster foiled SHARE ON: Wendy Gray, staff Friday, Mar. 15th, 2019 File Photo. On Wednesday an elderly Stratford woman called police. She had received a call earlier in the day that her daughter was in jail and needed $7,000 for bail. The woman sent $1,000 through Western Union but then realized she had been a victim of fraud. She called her bank and the Stratford Police Service. With the help of an officer she was able to stop the money transfer.
