Stratford Police to celebrate Special Olympics Day

Stratford Police are preparing to celebrate Special Olympics Day.

Stratford and area have been part of the Special Olympics movement for over 40 years, officially becoming a member of Special Olympics Ontario in 1996, and Stratford Police have partnered with Special Olympics Stratford and Area through the Law Enforcment Torch Run for many years.

Special Olympics Stratford and Area currently has over 100 athletes who have the opportunity to participate in 10 different sports throughout the year.

On Monday at 10 a.m., the Stratford Police will celebrate Special Olympics Day and they will be joined by the Knights of Columbus, local athletes, and volunteers to take part in a flag raising ceremony at the Stratford Knights of Columbus building on Morgan Street.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
