Perth-Wellington to receive $4.9 million to assist with transportation

Perth-Wellington is getting a financial boost from province to improve transit to the tune of $4.9 million.
Randy Pettapiece, MPP for Perth-Wellington, announced the funding on Tuesday saying it’s “welcome news” to residents in our area.
The money is the next stream of funding under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program which the province says was developed to provide funding for public transit projects outside the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and it’s part of a $30 billion federal-provincial-municipal cost-shared infrastructure investment.
To receive funding, a project must align with at least outcome, including improving capacity or improving access, and it must be financially viable.
The funding is available to every municipality which receives Provincial Gas Tax funding and reports ridership data to the Canadian Urban Transit Association.
