Stratford City Council expected to formally pass budget at special meeting Monday night

Stratford City Council could have its 2019 budget passed formally passed by the end of the day.
A special council meeting has been called for Monday night where a vote to formally adopt the 2019 budget will take place.
As it stands now, the budget reflects an overall tax increase of 2.99 percent on the municipal portion of the tax bill,
At the meeting, council is also expected to hear from residents who want to see a Stratford Transit stop rerouted from Caledonia Street over their concerns on speed, safety, and noise.
The stop on Caledonia Street was put in place as part of the city’s recently revised transit routes with the city saying it was selected for a few reasons including it’s a wide, one-way direction roadway.
The meeting starts at 6 p,m. at Stratford City Hall and it’s open to the public.
