Police: Overdose reversing drug used to save man’s life near Stratford

Stratford Police are crediting a temporary opioid reversing drug with saving a man’s life.
Around 6 o’clock Saturday night, police say they were contacted by Perth County Paramedics who requested assistance with a possible overdose at a home in Perth South involving a 60-year-old man.
Police say the man was initially found to have no vital signs and he was given Narcan and shortly after the man was revived and he regained consciousness.
As Narcan is only temporary, the man was transported to the Stratford General Hospital.
According to police, what drug the man used is currently unknown but it’s believed that because of the effectiveness of the Narcan that it was some type of opioid drug.
