Police: Medical condition lead to series of collisions outside Stratford that ended with vehicle hitting tree

Stratford Police say medical reasons were behind a series of collisions last week that saw a driver strike two other vehicles before hitting a house.
They say an 85-year-old man was driving eastbound on Highway 7/8 leaving Stratford around 2:30 p.m. last Wednesday approaching Road 111.
That’s when they say his Buick Verano began to veer to the left and it struck the back left corner of a Kia Soul, which was also traveling eastbound.
Police say the Buick then drove into the westbound lanes of the highway, striking the driver’s side of an Audi AQ3 which was trying to turn left onto Road 111.
The Buick then left the road, according to police, drove between two trees, struck a hydro pole knocking the wires down and finally hit the side of a house.
No one was injured in any of the collisions and the driver was brought to the hospital where police say it was determined that he had gone unconscious while driving for unknown medical reasons.
No charges were laid but the driver was directed to a physician for a medical review of his driver’s license.
