Three new members to be welcomed into Stratford Perth Museum Agriculture Wall of Fame

Three new members are set to join the Stratford Perth Museum Agriculture Wall of Fame.
Lorne Fell, Ken Scheerer, and Paul Verkley will all be inducted into the wall of fame at the Stratford Rotary Club’s Rural-Urban night taking place Thursday night.
Fell, who passed away last year, was best known for being behind the Rosebank Seed Farm, a very successful seed growing business, and he won the world championship for soybeans at the Royal Agriculture Winter Fair in 1982.
Ken Scheerer was a well-known part of the Stratford Rotary Club and was a bridge between urban and rural members, he passed away in 2004.
Verkley helped develop the Our Farm Environmental Agenda, one of the first documents outlining the value Ontario farmers have for the environment, which lead to the Ontario Environmental Farm Plan Program which has been used across North America.
This is the sixth year for the Agriculture Wall of Fame, which recognizes contributions to agriculture in Perth County.
