A long-time family doctor from Mitchell has been appointed the Medical Director for the Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice.
In a press release, Anne Fontana, the Chair of Hospice Care Avon Maitland, says Dr. Sergio Lappano has been appointed to the position and he will work as an independent contractor in conjunction with the SPRH team.
Dr. Lappano will monitor the medical quality of care provided by physicians at SPRH and will work closely with the Director of Residential Care to oversee hospice services.
He has practiced family medicine in Mitchell since 1987 and has had a keen interest in palliative care since 1990.
In addition to the appointment of its Medical Director, HCAM recently appointed Kate Wiens as its Director of Residential Care
