West Perth man faces charges after chase with police in Stratford

A 20-year-old West Perth man faces charges after police say he lead officers on a chase.

Just before 6 o’clock Saturday morning, Stratford Police officers were patrolling the Erie Street and St.Patrick area when officers say they saw a white Dodge Ram pickup truck that belonged to a prohibited driver.

Police say they tried to stop the truck but it accelerated and drove away erratically at a high rate of speed with police following until they determined it wasn’t safe.

The vehicle was last seen traveling north on John Street from West Gore Street and the driver was later located by Ontario Provincial Police in Seaforth on Sunday afternoon.

He faces charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.

He’s scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on May 13th.
