Rally to be held in Stratford protesting cuts made by Ontario government

A rally is planned for those in Stratford who say they are unhappy with funding cuts made by the Ontario government.

Next Wednesday, a general strike is being held in Stratford where organizers say they will protest what they call the “Ford cuts”.

Recent cuts made by the Ontario government include a 50 percent reduction in funding for library services.

The rally starts at noon in Market Square and there will be speakers on health, education and the environment.

Organizers say the event has no other political agenda, other than “stopping the current agenda being played out in Ontario and reminding Ontario Premier Doug Ford who hje works for.”

The event is similar to other’s taking place across Ontario including a rally planned for Queen’s Park in Toronto on Wednesday.
