Over $750 million in provincial funding coming to four local school boards

The MPP for Perth-Wellington is welcoming over $750 million in provincial funding coming to four local school boards.
A total of $752.9 million has been allotted to the Avon Maitland, Upper Grand, Huron Perth Catholic and Wellington Catholic District School Boards as part of the Grants for Students Needs education funding.
The GSN is the main funding that school boards receive annually and Pettapiece says the 2019 Ontario budget committed to increasing funding this year by $700 million province-wide with total funding rising to $30 billion by 2020-21.
The Ford government has also committed $1.6 billion in attrition protection that they say will ensure school boards are prepared to best manage the government’s proposed changes to e-learning and class sizes.
The news comes as a rally is planned by some for Friday afternoon in front of Pettapiece’s Stratford office to protest the planned changes to education in Ontario.
