Stratford man charged after police say he was caught committing an indecent act

A 25-year-old Stratford man has been charged after police say he was caught committing an indecent act.

After releasing a description of a man they were looking for related to an indecent act earlier in the week, police say they got a phone call around 9:00 o’clock Thursday morning about a male seen by the Avon River who matched the description.

They say officers went to the area and found the male hiding in the bushes with his pants open.

Police say the man attempted to run away but was caught a short distance later and it was determined that he was the suspect from the incident on Wednesday.

He was brought to police headquarters and charged with Committing an Indecent Act and Breach of Probation.

The man, who police say can only be identified as a 25-year-old male, was later brought to the Stratford General Hospital for a mental health assessment.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 17th.
