Damage pegged at $25,000 after garage fire in Stratford

Damage is pegged at $25,000 and a cause remains undetermined after a garage fire in Stratford.

Stratford Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Neil Anderson tells My Stratford Now. com that firefighters were called out to a home on Well Street Saturday night by a resident who reported their garage was on fire.

Upon arrival, Anderson says crews found the garage fully involved in fire with flames impinging on neighbouring buildings.

He says firefighters fought the flames back using water and put out another hose line to protect the exposed buildings, which he says prevented further damage.

After the flames were knocked down, crews checked for hot spots and fully extinguished the fire.

Anderson says there were no reported injuries connected to the blaze and an investigation into what caused it continues.
