John Henry (Jack) Weitzel, age 86, a resident of Cedarcroft Place, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on June 28, 2014. Jack was born in Ellice Township, son of the late Andrew and Daisy Weitzel and was a lifelong resident of Stratford. Beloved husband of Wilhelmina (Verwymeren) who predeceased him November 11, 1990. Loving father of Wilma Montgomery and Rosemary Brennan (Andrew). He will be missed by his grandchildren Lee Schellenberg (Amanda), Riley and Luke Brennan (Judy) and by his granddog Milo. Also survived by a sister Ruth Gingerich, a brother-in-law John Sulzer and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by his siblings Robert Weitzel, Marie Weitzel, Pauline Griffin and Doreen Sulzer and special friend Olga Verwymeren. Jack had worked at Kroehler’s for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Stratford Municipal Golf Course where he had many friends and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, July 2, from10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with a reception to follow.
