Two people from Huron East each face a long list of drug-related charges after police stopped a vehicle in Mitchell.

Around 10:30 Saturday night, Perth County OPP say an officer stopped a vehicle after it was suspected that the driver was impaired.

Police say the officer saw open alcohol in the vehicle while speaking with the driver and further investigation revealed that the female driver and the male passenger had drugs with them.

The 55-year-old woman and the 40-year-old man each face charges including possessing Meth, Heroin and Cocaine.

Police say they also seized drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash with the estimated value of the items seized, including the drugs, being around $2,500.

The two people are scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on June 24th.
