Police warning you about another scam targeting victims

Police are warning you about another scam that’s targetting victims.
On Sunday, Perth County OPP says they were contacted by a victim who said that they had sent money to a person that they thought was their grandson.
According to police, the grandson told the victim that he had been in a car accident in Quebec and needed a large sum of cash to get out of jail.
Police are encouraging all residents to be alert of the scam.
They say a scammer may contact you out of the blue to tell you that they are a relative in jail and needs your help or you may be contacted by letter, phone call, text message, email or social networking messages.
You should never send money or give credit card, online account details or copies of personal documents to anyone you don’t know or trust and never by email.
