Police emphasize trailer safety

The OPP is emphasizing trailer safety on local roads.

With the nicer weather, you’ll see more recreational, industrial, animal, farm and home-built trailers on local roads and highways.

Police have already seen many unsafe situations including badly constructed trailers with broken signal lights, insecure loads and improperly connected safety chains.

The OPP reminds you to follow all the rules for properly hauling and trailer.

Fines range from $110 to $390 for trailer and load offences.
