The case of a Stratford woman charged after leaving the scene of a fatal hit and run in the city has appeared before a judge for the first time.

According to the Stratford Beacon Herald, the case appeared before a judge Monday with the 30-year-old woman charged with failing to stop after an accident resulting in death in the incident in the Walmart parking lot on Mother’s Day.

Sixty-three-year-old Evelyn Sophia Harris was killed in the parking lot on May 12th when she was struck by a vehicle.

Harris was purchasing pillows to take to a London hotel where she was staying while she was being treated for cancer.

The case was adjourned until July 8th while it is reviewed by the defence.
