A Stratford school crossing guard continues to be honoured for her work.
Linda Daum, a crossing guard at Shakespeare Public School in Stratford, was selected as one of Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guards for 2019 in a contest put on by Parachute and FedEx Express Canada.
Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guard Contest was launched in 2005 to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of dynamic crossing guards who help keep children safe.
A school assembly and award presentation is being held Wednesday morning at Shakespeare Public School where Daum will be recognized.
Winners of the contest receive a crystal maple leaf award and $500 with the winner’s school also receiving $500, provided by FedEx Express Canada.
