Stratford Police searching for man they say stole plants from Stratford Festival

Police say they are continuing to search for a 42-year-old man who they say stole plants from the Stratford Festival.

Stratford Police say that on June 20th, 2018, Charles Stankus, was arrested and charged with two incidents of Break and Enter and two incidents of Failing to Comply with Recognizance.

They say Stankus had broken into a secured compound owned by the Stratford Festival Theatre and stole several plants on two separate occasions.

At the time, they say he was on a recognizance with a condition for a 24-hour curfew and he was due in court on September 10th of last year to answer to the charges.

Police say he didn’t show up at court that day and warrants were issued for his arrest.

Anyone who knows where Stankus, who has ties to Stratford, Windsor and London, might be is asked to call the police.
