Two people from Kitchener killed in collision involving train in Innerkip

Police have now identified two people killed in a collision between a train and a vehicle in Innerkip.
Just before 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Oxford County OPP say officers were called to the collision on George Street where they say a train struck a vehicle.
They say their investigation so far has determined that the train was travelling westbound on the rail line when it hit a vehicle that was travelling on George Street.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Cole Bey from Kitchener, was pronounced dead at the scene while his male passenger, 26-year-old Raymond Friolet from Kitchener, was brought to the hospital where he later died.

They were the only people in the vehicle and police continue to investigate what lead to the collision.
