Heat Warning issued for the Stratford area

We have our first official Heat Warning of the summer.

Environment Canada says a hot and humid airmass is expected to remain in place into Saturday with daytime maximum temperatures into the low thirties with humidex values near 40 can be expected Friday afternoon.

They say overnight minimum temperatures will remain near 20 degrees providing little relief.

The weather agency says that temperatures on Saturday will remain near thirty with humidex values in the upper thirties; however, with the passage of a cold front, cooler temperatures and lower humidity is expected for the remainder of the weekend.

In Stratford, the city says there are several places where you can go to cool off including the Stratford Rotary Complex and the Stratford Public Library.
