Some of the family members of the victims of serial killer nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer aren’t happy about a new play at the Blyth Festival Theatre.
The play features the case of the Woodstock born nurse who is serving a life sentence for killing eight elderly patients in long-term care facilities over the course of a decade.
Artistic director and co-playwright Gil Garratt says “In the Wake of Wettlaufer” will not portray the nurse or re-enact the murders.
Garratt says eight relatives of Wettlaufer’s victims were consulted in developing the show, but at least one family member has voiced objections to the production
