More details released on police-related incident in Huron East

More details are coming out about an incident that the province’s police watchdog is investigating in Huron East.

A spokesperson with the Special Investigations Unit tells MyStratfordNow.com that around 5:30 Friday afternoon, Huron County OPP were called to assist paramedics with a 46-year-old man at a home on Fifth Avenue in Clinton.

The SIU says the man was arrested and transported to the hospital where he was diagnosed with an unspecified serious injury.

Huron County OPP notified the SIU about what happened and they invoked their mandate with police saying they are now unable to give any more details about what took place.

The Special Investigations Unit is an arm’s length agency responsible for investigating circumstances involving police that have resulted in a death, serious injury, or allegations of sexual assault.
