Stratford Police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to run over officers with a vehicle.

Back on August 31st last year, police say a warrant was issued for 36-year-old Jay Foreman after an incident in the Stratford Walmart parking lot.

Police say they were initially called to the scene about a suspicious person and they say when they tried to talk with Foreman, he fled from the area, and it was then learned that the vehicle he was driving had been stolen.

A woman who had been with Foreman was left at the store and police say they discovered she had outstanding warrants against her and she ran with officers finding her in the parking lot of an empty apartment building where she was arrested.

Police say Foreman was witnessed in the apartment’s parking lot in the stolen vehicle and when he was approached by officers he drove away erratically and he attempted to run over the officers before driving off.

Foreman is charged with several offences including two counts of Assault with a Weapon and anyone who sees him is asked to call Stratford Police or Crime Stoppers.
