While nothing is official until the writ is dropped, another party has found their candidate for the upcoming federal election.
Officials with the Perth-Wellington NDP says Geoff Krauter, a long-time NDP member and community activist, will be nominated as the New Democratic Party candidate for the area at a nomination meeting in Stratford next Tuesday.
The meeting is taking place at the Griffith Auditorium on West Gore Street starting at 7 o’clock that night.
He joins a race that will include candidates Dr. Collan Simmons for the Green Party and Ken Metzger for the People’s Party of Canada.
Perth-Wellington Conservative MP John Nater has also confirmed that he will be seeking reelection in the riding.
The federal election is set for late October.
